Program

GKLS is carrying out a special Korean training program, called HAN ASEAN with the STEP Foundation of UN-WTO every year. The STEP Foundation is a special organization of UN-WTO for sustainable tourism and poverty reduction.

The STEP Foundation invited officials of Tourism Organization and persons concerned in the field of tourism from about 10 Asian countries. For about 3 months, they received Korean lesson, joined cultural activities related to Korean tradition and customs and participated in seminars on tourism. GKLS prepared a separate program to help their understanding of Korea.  We are also ready to take a leap forward to a wider world to not only Asian countries but also many other countries including Africa.

■ Program Contents

Experienced instructors give Korean classes, helping students of various nationalities understand the Korean  Language easily and speak it naturally in a daily life.

Besides textbook-oriented lesson we want the students to acquire the Korean Language and culture naturally in a daily life. Students learn daily conversations and practice them in a real situation such as using public transportation, learning Korean songs, making Korean food, etc.

Through these activities, participants experience the  real aspects of Korean cultures and its spirit.

On the ASEN Day the STEP Foundation invite officials from each participant’s’ embassy and friends. Each student introduces his/her own country’s culture and tourism business and exchange them one another. On that day they also sang a Korean song that they’d  learned at GKLS.

Many countries have their own parties on certain days. Our students are from many different countries. GKLS prepares some global parties for students, which is a good opportunity to exchange cultures and get to know one another.  It will be also kept as a good memory in them.

After completing the program, each participant received final reports which included attendance, grade, and a teacher’s remark. They also received some souvenirs like photos, a tumbler, and a T-shirt.
